East Mesa Christian Church

(Disciples of Christ)

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.  As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us.

Our Mission:

As followers of Jesus Christ, led and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we believe God calls East Mesa Christian Church to be:

A place of outreach, serving our community to the ends of the earth;

A place of welcome for all people;

A place of spiritual growth

A place of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ

Some History  of our Church

East Mesa Christian Church has been around for 41 years.  Our charter was granted on January 15, 1978.  There were 120 members.  The sanctuary was built and the first service was held in February  1981.  Our fellowship hall and office building was added in 1988.

Our permanent pastor, Robin Stalllings, begins her tenure here at East Mesa in January 2020.

Our congregation has dwindled over the years.  We now have 60 active members.  During 2018 we lost several due to death and moving out of the area.  Even though we lost members we added 10 to our number in 2018.  We have added four new members during the first 5 months of 2019.  Though our membership fluctuates we are a vibrant and welcoming church and we continue to grow.

We have a wonderful music program here at East Mesa.  Our chancel choir and bell choir are small but mighty thanks to our wonderful Music Director - William Sawyer.  We have wonderful piano and organ duets every Sunday performed by Cinda Foley and William Sawyer.
